The Visit Riihimäki website opens with the cooperation of three municipalities
Compilation of the Visit Riihimäki website started in June 2021, when Riihimäki Messut received funding from the Häme association for the tourism project of the Riihimäki region - Together forward. The tourism industry has suffered badly from the corona pandemic, and one of the project's important goals is to recover from the corona. The Visit Riihimäki website includes the tourism operators and municipalities of Lope, Riihimäki and Hausjärvi. The Visit Riihimäki website and brand are built in cooperation between the municipalities.
The Visit Riihimäki website has opened
The Visit Riihimäki website has been built in collaboration with Loppi, Riihimäki and Hausjärvi. Riihimäen Messut, as the project manager, has been responsible for the workshops and progress. “We had a tight schedule because we aimed to have the website open before the Matka fair. It helped us enormously that we received a ready-made template from the city of Riihimäki,” says project manager and fair director Ninni Manninen. The city of Riihimäki’s website renewal was completed in autumn 2021. Loppi and Hausjärvi are also currently renewing their websites. The Visit Riihimäki website is built on a WordPress template, which has been modified by Geniem. The Visit Riihimäki website can also be accessed using the domains visitloppi and visithausjarvi.
The Visit Riihimäki website has been built to serve tourists coming to the region. The sites and entities have been compiled first. The sites present, among other things, paths and routes, museums, farm shops, activities and accommodation options. The Ihastu section highlights potential destinations of interest, and the Plan section makes it easier for tourists to arrive and plan their trip in the area. The tourism website is alive and developing, so ideas and wishes about the content of the site are welcome throughout its life cycle.
The look of Visit Riihimäki
A visual identity for Visit Riihimäki was created in autumn 2021 in collaboration with the advertising agency Precis. The Let's Go Tavastia project defined nature, culture, well-being and local life as the tourism priorities for Visit Riihimäki. The color scheme started from these priorities. Green was chosen as the main color because it reflects nature well, which is an important tourism asset in the region. The advertising agency also drew a silhouette of the area where you can walk from left to right through Loppi to Riihimäki and from there to Hausjärvi.
Close cooperation of three municipalities for tourism
Riihimäki, Loppi and Hausjärvi have worked closely together in tourism even before the project. The city and municipalities are located so close to each other that a traveler can easily use the services in different locations. Equality in terms of targets is seen as important in cooperation. This means producing content on topics of interest to travelers. The common goal is the growth of tourism in the region and recovery from the corona pandemic.
Riihimäen Messut received funding for the tourism project from the Häme Regional Council in June 2021. The purpose of the tourism project is to create an organization and assemble a partnership network to promote regional tourism. In addition to the website, Riihimäen Messut has produced a tourism brochure called Parhaita Paloja, which will be published in early February. In addition, network meetings have been organized within the framework of the project and Visit Riihimäen channels have been created on social media.
