There are plenty of summer experiences in the Riihimäki region

The Riihimäki, Loppi and Hausjärvi regions have an incredibly diverse range of summer events. In our region you will find music events for every taste, excellent summer theatre performances, event-packed market days and markets, and atmospheric dances.

African tunes and the brightest stars of the Finnish pop sky

June kicks off with the Riihimäki Summer Concert Series, which this summer's theme is Africa. The opening concert of the summer concerts will be held at Granit Square on Tuesday, June 2. Admission to the event is free for everyone. The festival program from June 2 to 7 includes paid and free concerts. This year, there will also be concerts in Loppe.

An age-free Rixublock concert will be held at Riihimäki Market Square on July 9th, featuring the luminous Hugo and Olga.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Mommila Village Store will host numerous performers this summer. Mikko Alatalo will take to the stage at the Old Vehicles Evening on June 23, Olli Halonen will entertain the audience on July 16, and Samae Koskinen will perform on August 14. On Saturday, August 1, the Village Store will host country music.

See you at the market!

The Oitti Market is held in Hausjärvi on the first Saturday of August. The rustic market is an annual tradition.

On summer Thursdays, it's worth heading to Loppi Market. Loppi's programmatic summer market season begins on June 4 and continues until August 6. This year's market season includes, among other things, a flea market, a local market, a traffic market and an equality market.

At the closing ceremony of the summer market season, the audience is mesmerized by the Time Machine.

Wilderness atmosphere

The International Wilderness Fair will bring people together at Riihimäki Sports Park from June 5–7. The Wilderness Fair is Finland's oldest and largest wilderness event, offering programs, performances and wilderness innovations for the whole family.

After the fair, you can get back into the nature mood at the Hausjärvi Nature365 event, which will open on June 13. The extensive nature photo exhibition, which will be spread across the Hausjärvi municipal office and the adjacent bank building, will be open throughout the summer.

Summer theater for families with children and for adults too

The Riihimäki region is known for its high-quality and diverse summer theater offerings.

The Loppe Theatre will be performing the play Happy Family this summer. It is a humorous show that does not avoid misunderstandings or coincidences. The performance season is 4.7 July–2.8 August.

The summer play of the Hausjärvi-based Miina Montu is The Full Monty – all the way to the pin. The premiere is on June 13.6th and the last performance will be on August 23.8rd.

This summer, the Riihimäki Summer Theatre's programme includes the comedy musical Opehuone and Kuumia aaltoja, which tells the story of two women's evening at a karaoke bar. Opehuone will be performed from 24.6 June to 25.7 July and Kuumia aaltoja from 31.7 July to 8.8 August.

Riihimäki Youth Theatre will be performing the family musical Ella and Paterock this summer. Its performance season is from 11.6 June to 22.8 August.

When the dancing foot moves

Stage dancing is worth experiencing at least once this summer! Stage dancing is open to both experienced dancers and first-time dancers.

In Riihimäki, the Riuta dance stage hosts dancing from May to September on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In Loppella, the Vojakkala stage hosts dancing on Saturdays throughout the summer. In Hausjärvi, the Kolmilammi stage hosts dancing on Sundays in the summer.
