The 80-year-old Riihimäki Theatre gets a new stage

In 2026, we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Riihimäki Theatre with the theme Every performance is a celebration. To celebrate the anniversary, we will also open a new restaurant theatre stage in collaboration with Teatterihotelli Riihimäki.

A small performance stage will be built in the theatre hotel's restaurant for the autumn season, and the restaurant hall will be transformed into an auditorium with around 150 seats. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner, after which the lights will dim and the story will begin – right at the table in the restaurant hall. The theatre is naturally responsible for the entertaining performance and its implementation, the hotel for good food and service.

The buffet dinner offers a diverse selection of appetizers, two hot main course options, and dessert with coffee and tea. The restaurant's entire operations are centered on a high level of in-house preparation, high-quality ingredients, and a passion for food.

Two uplifting performances

Hot Waves, which can also be seen at the Riihimäki Summer Theatre, will be adapted into a delightful restaurant theatre performance after the summer. In this karaoke show, two Annes, who do not know each other, become soul sisters during one karaoke bar evening. They laugh at themselves and each other, curse both the hot waves and their age, and become briefly sensitive to the past.
