Trails and routes
The outdoor trails in the Riihimäki region take hikers to the stunning landscapes of the Häme Lake District. There are over 100 kilometers of marked trails in the area's forests, bogs and ridges. Whether you want to move fast or slowly, mountain biking or trail running, hiking or enjoying nature, we have a trail just for you. The area also has accessible routes and destinations suitable for the whole family.
Hatlamminsuo nature trail
Hatlamminsuo is the most valuable single natural site in Riihimäki. It is used for recreation in a variety of ways throughout the year, and a dense network of trails crisscross the area.
Riutta nature trail
A nature trail showcasing ice age formations and the natural characteristics of Riutta runs in connection with the Riutta forest trail in Riihimäki.
Sammalistosuo nature trail
Sammalistonsuo is one of the best bird watching spots in Southern Finland: no fewer than 245 bird species have been spotted in the wetland.
Luutaharju's samo
The terrain of the Luutaharju's samo trail is varied: ridge forest, swampy areas, steep climbs and descents. The route offers real wilderness feel at Luutalammi.
Going around Melkutin
The clear-water Melkutin and the surrounding outdoor trails are one of the gems of the Häme Lake District in Loppi.
Poronpolku
There are five routes of varying lengths on the Poronpolku trail. You can cross the Punelia strait by ferry during the Poronpolku event, which has been organized in Loppi since 1965.
Pääjärvi circular routes
There are three circular trails of different lengths at Lake Pääjärvi: 1,5 km, 4,5 km and 7,5 km. The shortest trails are also well suited for families with children.
Hämeen Ilvesreitti trail
The Hämeen Ilvesreitti trail runs through the southern part of the Häme's Järviylänkö region in Loppi, Tammela, Riihimäki and Hämeenlinna. The total length of the route is approximately 220 kilometers.
Ykslammi outdoor recreation area
Ykslammi with its magnificent ridges is located in Hausjärvi. The area has a beach, a trail and a frisbee golf course.
Kakslammi nature trail
On the Kakslammi nature trail in Hausjärvi, you can explore the scorched environment with its typical plants and the endangered insects that need them.
Oitti Cherry Park
The Cherry Park's accessible outdoor trail allows you to relax amidst the flowers. The area also has a dog park, a lean-to, and fitness equipment.
